About this scholarship

Year 1 University of Windsor Law students interested in pursuing a legal career that supports and advocates for anti-racism may apply. The scholarship is open to all students, with preference for those who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Colour. Selection considers demonstrated experience in anti-racism advocacy and a clear plan for using a legal career to address systemic discrimination.

One award of $10,000 is renewable for two additional years. Recipients may also receive a stipend of up to $2,000 for travel, accommodations, and meals to attend a curated 'Day on Bay St.' symposium in Toronto (or a virtual alternative), plus ongoing mentorship and coaching from Scotiabank and partners, and a possible interview for a co-op or internship. In addition to the application questions, students must upload a one-page essay response to their profile. Apply online through UWinAward.
