About this scholarship
The Supporting Emerging Educator Development (S.E.E.D.) Scholarship supports aspiring Chicago teachers enrolled in City Colleges education pathways, including Teach Chicago Tomorrow and the Emerging Educators cohort at Truman College. Awards up to $3,000 per year based on credit load: $750 per semester for 6–8 credits, $1,000 for 9–11 credits, and $1,500 for 12 or more credits. Stipends cover tuition, books, and class materials not already paid by financial aid on approved academic pathways. Scholars receive wraparound support and may earn priority placement for CPS teaching jobs after licensure. Applicants complete an interest form, City Colleges application, and FAFSA or RISE Act application.
