About this scholarship
The S.C. Ylvisaker Scholarship honors Dr. Sigurd Christian Ylvisaker, Bethany Lutheran College president from 1930 to 1950, and is awarded to four entering freshmen each year. The scholarship provides sixteen thousand dollars per year, renewable for four years, to students who excel in scholarship and embody Bethany’s Christian values. Candidates must meet Presidential Scholarship academic thresholds—a 26 ACT or 1240 SAT and 3.6 GPA—and complete supplemental Meyer/Ylvisaker requirements including an on-campus interview and timed essay. The February 28 application deadline and March interview date apply to fall enrollment.
