About this scholarship

The Rochester Promise guarantees tuition-free attendance at the University of Rochester for eligible graduates of Rochester City School District public or publicly chartered high schools within city boundaries. First-year and transfer applicants qualify when they reside in Rochester, spent their final two high school years at a qualifying RCSD school, enroll full time in the College, and have household income no greater than twice the Monroe County average. Awards combine federal, state, and university grants so admitted students pay no tuition. Students whose parent receives a University employee tuition waiver are ineligible.
