About this scholarship
The Richard Tyner Scholarship supports in-state University of Iowa Honors Program students who earned entry into Honors by achieving strong academic performance during their first three semesters on campus rather than through direct admission from high school. Recipients must have graduated from a rural Iowa high school, achieved a UI GPA of 3.5 or higher in their first, second, or third semester, and be currently enrolled Honors members in their first or second year of undergraduate study in CLAS, Education, or Engineering. Awards vary between one thousand and five thousand dollars for the following academic year. Students apply through the Iowa Scholarship Portal with a resume, faculty recommendation, and conditional application.
