The Richard Porter Leach Fellowship at SUNY Empire State University supports matriculated undergraduate students who are established performing artists in theater, dance, or music and want to earn a degree while continuing to practice their craft. Fellows must have an established performance reputation and submit a supplemental application with resume or biography, work samples, professional references, and a nomination letter from a director, manager, or established member of the performing arts community. The fellowship covers tuition and fees and may renew while the student remains active in their craft, continuously enrolled, and in good academic standing. Enlisted Marines, Sailors, and their dependents assigned to MCRD San Diego or the Western Recruiting Region who are high school seniors or graduates enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program may apply through the MCRD Museum Foundation. Up to two scholarships of up to $2,000 each are awarded annually based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, community service, and future potential.
