Project LEAP, run by the Intertribal Agriculture Council's Youth Program with support from the Native American Agriculture Fund and Newman's Own Foundation, provides $500 awards to Native American youth and young professionals ages 14 to 26 to help them take the next step in agriculture, natural resources, or food systems. Funds can support livestock feeding, processing, or showing; payments on open youth agriculture loans; gardening tools, seeds, and soil; or attendance at agriculture-related conferences, workshops, and trainings.
Applicants describe their project or opportunity and how it connects to their goals in Indian agriculture.
The 2026 season opened July 1, 2026, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted, so early application is encouraged.
