About this scholarship

U.S. or Canadian citizens enrolled in a U.S. college, university, or trade school who lost a parent, guardian, grandparent, sibling, or spouse to alcohol, drug, or prescription drug abuse may apply for the Lisa Michelle Memorial Fund Scholarship. You need at least a 3.0 GPA, proof of enrollment, and death-certificate verification. Past recipients cannot reapply.

A $1,000 one-time award is offered.

Prepare an 800 to 1,500 word essay as a PDF and submit it with the completed application to info.thelmmfund@gmail.com. The fund supports students coping with the loss of a close family member to substance abuse.

  • Current part-time or full-time enrollment at an accredited college, university, or trade school (proof of registration: registrar documentation, class schedule, or acceptance letter)
  • Legal U.S. or Canadian citizen
  • Must have lost a parent/guardian, grandparent, sibling, or spouse to substance abuse
  • Written verification of cause of death required (death certificate)
  • Previous recipients ineligible; prior applicants may reapply
