About this scholarship
Merit scholarship providing $5,000 per year for up to two years to out-of-state transfer students with strong academic records. Recipients are selected competitively from fall transfer admission applications submitted by the March 1 early action deadline, including academic achievement, extracurricular activities, awards, honors, and the application essay. No separate application is required. Only U.S. citizens and permanent residents may receive UMD merit scholarships, and students may hold only one transfer merit award.
