About this scholarship
The President's Award Program is one of the most prestigious scholarships across the University of Illinois System, including Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, and Springfield campuses. High-achieving newly admitted Illinois resident freshmen are considered automatically without a separate application. Priority groups include students from low-sending Illinois counties and high schools, first-generation college students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree, and students who qualify for Pell or MAP eligibility verified through FAFSA. The award provides up to five thousand dollars per year for up to eight consecutive full-time semesters. Recipients must maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA and accept their admission offer by May 1 to retain the scholarship.
