About this scholarship
The Porter Cleveland Fellowship at Wheaton College Massachusetts honors Nancy Lyon Porter Class of 1943 through a gift facilitated by her daughter Elizabeth Porter Daane Class of 1977. Fellows receive $3,500 plus paid housing to intern or volunteer with a community-based organization in Cleveland, Ohio during the summer and participate in Cleveland Foundation Internship Program activities. All class years may apply after securing a qualifying Cleveland placement. Applications open each February with a late-February priority deadline and rolling review through spring. Required materials include a resume, supervisor memorandum of understanding, and three-to-four-page purpose statement, plus post-experience reflection and showcase components.
