About this scholarship

The Penn State Commonwealth Award is offered annually to first-time, first-year Pennsylvania residents who enroll at a Penn State campus other than University Park or World Campus the fall immediately after high school graduation. Transfer students are not eligible. There is no separate application; Penn State evaluates students from admission and financial aid records through May 1. FAFSA filing is encouraged but not required, though students demonstrating need may qualify for an additional Commonwealth Assistance Award. Recipients must remain full-time, maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA, complete twenty-four credits annually, and stay enrolled at a qualifying commonwealth campus.
