NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program

U.S. citizens or permanent residents from disadvantaged backgrounds with exceptional financial need who are committed to biomedical, behavioral, or social science research careers may apply. You must be enrolled or accepted full-time at an accredited four-year institution with a 3.3+ GPA or rank in the top 5% of your class.

Scholarship recipients may receive up to $20,000 per academic year for tuition, educational, and reasonable living expenses, renewable for up to four years. The program also includes a paid ten-week NIH summer internship and a one-year post-graduation NIH service obligation.

Apply through the NIH UGSP portal with financial need certification from your institution's financial aid office.
