About this scholarship
The Newbury Scholarship, funded by the Newbury College Foundation, provides one to two full-tuition scholarships at Wheaton College Massachusetts for eligible Boston-area students. Before Newbury College closed in 2019, it served first-generation and historically marginalized students from Boston and nearby communities; Wheaton continues that legacy as a FirstGen Forward institution. There is no separate application. The Office of Admission considers all potential candidates when reviewing applications. Recipients also access Wheaton's first-generation student support programs. Scholarships are renewable for four years while students remain in good academic and social standing.
