About this scholarship
The Nakanishi Prize honors Don Nakanishi, Yale Class of 1971, by recognizing two graduating Yale College seniors who maintained high academic achievement while providing exemplary leadership in enhancing race and ethnic relations on campus throughout their undergraduate careers. Any member of the Yale community may nominate a senior; winners are chosen by a faculty, dean, and undergraduate committee. Nomination materials are submitted online by April 3 annually. The prize is announced at Class Day alongside Yale College's other top senior honors and celebrates sustained community-building across racial and ethnic lines at Yale.
