About this scholarship
MESA brings undergraduate students to Eastern Oregon University to pursue a bachelor's degree in mathematics and prepare for entry into the Master of Teaching and teacher licensure program. Awards range from two thousand to four thousand dollars per year and may renew annually until graduation. Applicants need a 3.25 or higher GPA from high school or prior college. The MESA Review Committee ranks applicants using an essay on pursuing secondary mathematics teaching, math teacher recommendations, prior math coursework, and membership in underrepresented populations in mathematics teaching. Applications received by February 1 are reviewed and applicants notified by April 1.
