About this scholarship
Madison Awards for Academic Excellence are four-year renewable merit scholarships recognizing broad accomplishment and potential across JMU academic colleges and departments. Awards are equivalent to seventy-five percent of in-state tuition and comprehensive fees based on the year the student enters James Madison University. Academic units select recipients who demonstrate scholastic achievement within a particular area of study and promise to contribute to the university. No separate scholarship application is required beyond the admission application; students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative JMU GPA by the end of each academic year to qualify for renewal of the award.
