About this scholarship
Macalester Scholarships are institutional non-need-based merit awards for admitted U.S. citizens and permanent residents. All applicants for first-year admission are considered automatically when they apply; no additional scholarship application or financial aid forms are required for merit review. More than half of Macalester students receive a merit scholarship, and awards are granted at admission for up to eight full-time semesters. Amounts are fixed at the time of admission and do not change based on academic performance or tuition increases. Students may also receive need-based aid in addition to these merit awards.
