About this scholarship
The Laker Lane Scholarship provides $1,000 per year to incoming Grand Valley State University freshmen admitted for Fall 2026 who sign up for orientation, apply for on-campus housing, and file the 2026-2027 FAFSA by March 1, 2026. Recipients must enroll full time and may renew for three additional years by earning a 3.0 cumulative GPA and at least 24 GVSU credit hours each year, for a total award value of $4,000. This scholarship rewards students who complete key enrollment steps early and commit to living on campus. International students do not qualify for this or other admission merit scholarships listed on the freshman merit page.
