About this scholarship

The Kevin D. Gorter Scholarship Award, funded by the Kevin Gorter Memorial Fund, supports academically excellent College of Lake County graduates with significant financial need who commute from Lake County, Illinois. Lake Forest meets full demonstrated need for tuition and fees for selected Gorter Scholars entering with junior standing. Applicants must be Pell-eligible through the FAFSA or RISE Act eligible, show strong academic achievement and extracurricular involvement at CLC, and preferably graduate with an AA or AS degree. Preference goes to students from Round Lake, North Chicago, Waukegan, or Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep. The committee selects recipients each fall through regular admission with no separate form.
