About this scholarship
The Kestrel Scholarship is an in-state tier of Fairmont State University's Traditions Scholarship program rewarding strong high school academic performance. West Virginia first-time freshmen with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 receive one thousand eight hundred seventy-five dollars per year toward tuition and fees. The award is granted automatically upon admission when students complete the general application and submit transcripts by the deadline; ACT and SAT scores are not required for eligibility under the current model. The scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters when students maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA and earn at least thirty credit hours each year including fall, spring, and summer terms.
