About this scholarship
Undergraduate students entering their third or fourth year in the Faculty of Arts at UBC Vancouver are eligible. Candidates must have achieved a minimum GPA of 80% in the previous winter session and, in the current winter session, must have officially declared a major, honours, or combined specialization.
Scholarships totalling $27,800 have been endowed by friends and family in honour of Associate Professor Emerita Katherine Brearley, a longtime faculty member, Assistant Dean of Women, and the first Senior Faculty Advisor in the Faculty of Arts. Per-recipient amounts vary.
Students apply through the Faculty of Arts. Selection considers both scholarly excellence and demonstrated ability to work with and lead others in student and community activities.
