About this scholarship
The Joann Peters Scholarship at the University of North Texas provides $1,000 to $2,000 to undergraduate chemistry majors in the College of Science, funded by a chemistry alum with the first award given in spring 2019. If no chemistry applicant qualifies, biology majors who completed three credit hours in chemistry may be considered, followed by physics majors with three chemistry credit hours. Recipients must meet university entrance and continuing academic standards, maintain full-time enrollment unless nearing degree completion, and submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words describing their work in science. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The monetary award defrays tuition and fees for the following academic year.
