About this scholarship
The Joan and Irwin Jacobs Scholarships, established through a $30 million endowment in Cornell's College of Engineering, support approximately 80 undergraduate engineering students annually who demonstrate financial need and commitment to applying engineering education for the betterment of the world. Since 2006 the Jacobs Scholars program has supported more than 500 Cornell Engineering students through nearly 1,300 awards. Recipients are selected through Cornell's need-based financial aid process with no separate application. The scholarships aim to bolster recruitment of outstanding engineering students from diverse backgrounds. A related Jacobs Fellowships program supports graduate students in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, but undergraduate recipients are known as Jacobs Scholars within the college.
