About this scholarship
The HU Leadership Scholarship is one of seven Howard University Freshman Scholarship awards extended automatically to eligible first-time-in-college admits. Selection follows the HUFS matrix using high school academic records from Admissions and financial need data from the FAFSA or ISFAA. International students qualify only for the merit portion of HUFS. Students accept offers through Bison Hub and return the signed HUFS Acceptance Agreement by the deadline in their award letter. Renewal for up to eight semesters requires maintaining satisfactory academic progress and the specific cumulative GPA and earned-credit thresholds outlined in each recipient's HUFS contract evaluated after spring grades post each year.
