About this scholarship
The HU Access Scholarship is the need-focused tier of the Howard University Freshman Scholarship program for incoming first-time-in-college students. Eligibility is determined from FAFSA or ISFAA Student Aid Index ranges combined with high school academic credentials entered by the Office of Admissions, with no separate internal application required. Students accept the award through Bison Hub and sign the HUFS Acceptance Agreement by the stated deadline. Awards renew for up to eight consecutive semesters when recipients maintain the full-time enrollment, earned-credit, and cumulative GPA standards in their individual contract. Students may receive only one HUFS award and cannot stack HUFS with university tuition remission effective 2025-26.
