The Great Lakes Award at Northern Michigan University provides three thousand dollars per year to non-Michigan residents from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio, or Indiana who are admitted as first-year students with a high school GPA between 2.5 and 2.74. The scholarship is awarded automatically at admission with no separate application required. Recipients must enroll full-time in at least twelve credit hours and maintain a 2.5 cumulative NMU GPA for renewal. The award is available for up to eight consecutive semesters or until completion of the first bachelor's degree, whichever comes first, and is not available to Global Campus or international students.
