Freshmen Merit Scholarships at Wichita State provide automatic awards from $6,000 to $24,000 over four years for incoming domestic high school seniors based on unweighted GPA and ACT or SAT scores. Kansas residents and tuition-discount-program students may receive up to $4,000 per year; out-of-state students may receive up to $6,000 per year at the highest tier. Students apply for WSU admission by the December 1 priority deadline to be considered for the 2027-2028 cycle. Minimum eligibility requires a 3.0 GPA and 21 ACT or 1060 SAT. Awards renew for four years with a 3.0 GPA and 24 earned credit hours annually.
