About this scholarship
The Founders' Scholarship recognizes incoming Southern Methodist University first-year students with outstanding academic success and leadership potential in the classroom. SMU may provide up to $60,000 total, payable up to $15,000 per year or $7,500 per term for eight terms or until graduation. Selection is based on a comprehensive, holistic review of the SMU admission application without a separate scholarship form. Recipients must maintain a cumulative SMU GPA of at least 3.000 with full-time enrollment, and combined SMU merit and need-based awards cannot exceed tuition and fees.
