About this scholarship
The Finish Line Fund was established in 2024 by Susan and Bill Dake to support SUNY Empire State University students in the final two terms of their undergraduate degree. The Dake family, owners of Stewart's Shops, have long supported Empire students through multiple Foundation scholarships promoting access to education in the Capital Region. Recipients are selected through the ESCFAST General Application after meeting standard Foundation criteria: matriculation, at least eight credits earned at Empire, satisfactory academic progress, and FAFSA completion when need-based eligibility applies. Awards are approximately $2,000.
