The Ethel Brandt Bigham Endowed Education Award recognizes a junior elementary education major at Messiah University with exemplary personal characteristics, service, and intent to teach in an urban or rural setting. One award of approximately twelve hundred dollars is disbursed during the recipient's senior year. Applicants must have a minimum 3.6 cumulative GPA, be admitted to the Teacher Education Program, and have completed at least forty-five Messiah credits. Applications include a resume and essay on motivation to teach in urban or rural settings and are due by noon on the last Thursday in February. This is an add-on award.
