About this scholarship
The Emmanuel Lebron Memorial Scholarship honors Sergeant First Class Emmanuel De Jesus Lebron, a New York City native who served eleven years in the U.S. Army with distinction before his death. The scholarship supports CUNY students who reflect his loyalty, compassion, leadership, and commitment to public and military service. Awards of $1,000 toward total cost of attendance are granted to matriculated full-time undergraduate or graduate CUNY students in good standing who demonstrate financial need through FAFSA completion and interest in public service and/or military service. Applicants submit a 300-word personal essay describing that interest and how past experiences shaped their commitment. Awards may renew for recipients who continue to meet eligibility.
