About this scholarship
The Edwin T. Pratt Scholarship honors the civil rights leader and Seattle Urban League executive director who moved to Shoreline in 1959 to challenge residential segregation and was assassinated in 1969. It supports students enrolled at Shoreline Community College who are graduates of Shorewood High School or Shorecrest High School in the Shoreline School District. Applicants use the Foundation's annual AwardSpring application during January through March. Recipients must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and remain enrolled at Shoreline. The scholarship connects Pratt's legacy of fair housing advocacy to local students pursuing higher education.
