About this scholarship

The Early Awareness Scholarship supports incoming Grand Valley State University freshmen who participated for at least two years in an approved college-access program such as TRiO Upward Bound, TRiO Talent Search, GEAR UP, the Detroit Compact, or GVSU 8th Grade Pathways. Recipients need at least a 3.0 high school cumulative GPA and must be admitted by March 1. Michigan residents receive $3,000 per year; non-Michigan residents receive $3,000 plus the out-of-state tuition differential.
