About this scholarship
The Dr. Bill Marion Jr. First-Generation Scholarship Fund at Valparaiso University supports full-time undergraduate students who are the first in their families to pursue a four-year college degree. Preference goes to students who demonstrate financial need, maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA, and show leadership and community or service involvement. Awards are up to $1,000 per year, with the number and amount determined by a selection committee in collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid. Applications open March 23 and close April 10 for the 2027 cycle.
