About this scholarship
Professor Doris Rathbun Knight established this Holyoke Community College Foundation scholarship for students majoring in history, government, the humanities, or social sciences. Knight taught history and government at HCC for more than thirty years, helped found the faculty senate, advised the Green Key Honor Society, and was known for lifelong mentorship of students. Recipients are selected annually through the foundation's AwardSpring application and personal essay. The award supports undergraduates pursuing liberal arts and social science credentials at HCC who demonstrate alignment with the fund's academic focus. Multiple students may not receive the award in a given year depending on committee matching. Funds are credited to student accounts to offset tuition and educational expenses.
