About this scholarship
The Distinguished Scholar award at Northwest Missouri State University provides four thousand dollars per fall and spring semester to first-time freshmen who meet the Distinguished Scholar tier on the university's merit-based scholarship chart using high school GPA and standardized test scores. Northwest automatically awards this scholarship at admission when students apply by May 1, and no separate scholarship form is required. Distinguished Scholar is mutually exclusive with other automatic freshman merit tiers. Renewal requires a 3.50 Northwest cumulative GPA and twenty-four completed credit hours per year for students entering before the 2025-2026 aid year, or a 3.00 GPA for students entering in 2025-2026 and later, within four consecutive academic years.
