About this scholarship
DeWitt Wallace Distinguished Scholarships are among Macalester College's most competitive non-need-based merit awards for admitted students. The admissions committee selects recipients from the admission application without a separate scholarship application, and financial need is not a factor in the decision. Recipients learn of the award when they receive their admission decision. The scholarship amount is determined at admission and renews at the same level each semester for up to eight semesters. Macalester does not reconsider or increase merit scholarship amounts after admission.
