About this scholarship
The David Wills Scholarship honors academically strong prospective students applying to Gettysburg College through the standard admission process. Named for the 1851 Gettysburg graduate who invited President Lincoln to deliver the Gettysburg Address, this merit program requires no separate application and does not consider financial need. Admissions reviewers select recipients based on academic achievement indicators such as GPA, schedule strength, and optional test scores submitted with the Common Application. Scholars must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 at the end of each academic year to renew the award for up to eight semesters of full-time enrollment. Merit scholarship amounts are determined at admission and remain fixed throughout a student's enrollment at Gettysburg.
