About this scholarship

The Dallas County Mustang Scholars Program helps high-achieving, financially needy graduates of Dallas County high schools afford a full SMU experience. Selected scholars receive a Mustang Scholarship package that combines with other aid to cover tuition, fees, and on-campus housing while joining the Turner Scholars cohort for mentoring, leadership development, and community engagement. Students must graduate from a public, private, or charter high school in Dallas County, enroll at SMU the fall after high school graduation, and demonstrate Pell eligibility through the FAFSA or TASFA. SMU considers applicants automatically during admission review and typically notifies recipients before May 1.
