About this scholarship
CUSP Independent Research and Creative Projects Funding supports Columbia Undergraduate Scholars conducting self-designed summer research or creative work under a Columbia, Barnard, or Teachers College faculty mentor. This branch of the Summer Enhancement Fellowship requires preparatory workshops, a faculty support form, and a detailed proposal developed through Graduate Student Mentor advising. Awardees typically receive partial stipends averaging up to about three thousand dollars for a twelve-week project, present at the SEF Independent Projects Panel, and complete mandatory summer blogging and budget reconciliation.
