About this scholarship

Cougar Promise is the University of Houston's commitment to cover tuition and mandatory fees for eligible entering Texas-resident freshmen from families with adjusted gross income at or below sixty-five thousand dollars, using grants and other aid determined by the FAFSA or TASFA. Texas residents with AGI between sixty-five thousand one and one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars may qualify for tuition support ranging from five hundred to two thousand dollars. Applicants must submit all admission documents and complete the FAFSA or TASFA with verification materials by January 15. Full-time enrollment of at least twelve credits is required. The program renews up to four years, or five for the B.Arch. plan, with a 2.5 GPA and twenty-four credit hours per year.
