About this scholarship
Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons who are Ontario residents and demonstrate financial need may be considered. Preference goes to students involved in Nigerian and/or Nigerian-Canadian communities or fluent in a Nigerian language. An Osgoode JD student is selected in odd years.
The award amount varies. Apply through the Osgoode bursary application. Applicants submit a one-page statement outlining Nigerian community involvement and/or fluency in Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, or another Nigerian language.
Chief Emmanuel Mbulu, who attended York as an international student from Nigeria while supporting his family overseas, established the award. He is a businessman and community leader in Toronto and Nigeria.
