About this scholarship
The Care Workers for Our Future Scholarship supports New York City high school graduates who attend CUNY with the aim of becoming nurses, social workers, mental health service providers, or counselors. Students may receive $800 per year ($400 per semester), subject to annual NYC Council funding allocations. There is no separate application; students are automatically considered when they apply for CUNY admission. Recipients must maintain continuous full-time CUNY enrollment, a cumulative 3.0 GPA, and New York City residency. Associate-degree students may receive the award for up to six semesters; bachelor’s-degree students for up to eight semesters. Once a college reaches its allocation, no additional recipients can be awarded that year.
