About this scholarship
The Bowers Scholarship is the Elliott T. Bowers Honors College's premier award for incoming freshmen at Sam Houston State University, providing up to eighty thousand dollars over four years at ten thousand dollars per semester. Two scholarships are awarded annually to students with a minimum 1350 SAT or 30 ACT who are accepted to Honors and demonstrate exceptional academic and leadership achievement. Candidates may be invited to a second-round interview. Bowers Scholars must follow the research track, complete a thesis, and graduate with Highest Honors while maintaining a 3.25 GPA and full-time enrollment.
