About this scholarship

Need-based scholarship program created by John Griffin supporting UVA undergraduates with exceptional academic promise and significant financial need. A committee within the Office of Admission selects scholars during the admission process; there is no separate public application beyond applying for undergraduate admission and need-based financial aid. Awards range from one thousand to seven thousand dollars per year and may replace the loan or work-study portion of a financial aid package. More than two hundred students have received Blue Ridge Scholarships since the program launched.
