About this scholarship
The Arthur Adkins Summer Research Fellowship supports third-year University of Chicago undergraduates preparing for graduate school to write a superior research paper on any aspect of the ancient world from the Bronze Age through Late Antiquity. The fellowship, anticipated at $5,000, may fund travel to classical sites, collections, or other research centers and/or living expenses during the summer between third and fourth years. Applicants submit a research plan, provisional budget, faculty recommendation, project statement, and transcript to the Classics department by the first Friday of Spring Quarter of third year, and must file a written report after the fellowship.
