Scholarships at University of Wyoming

The Wind River Promise Fund supports undergraduate students at the University of Wyoming who are enrolled members of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe or the Northern Arapaho Tribe. Eligible students must be Wyoming residents who graduated from a Wyoming high school, maintain good academic standing, enroll full-time, complete the FAFSA annually, and upload proof of tribal enrollment in WyoScholarships. The fund is intended to cover full undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees when funding allows, with prorated amounts if resources are insufficient. New and continuing students apply annually; the fall 2026 application window is open through July 1, 2026.

The Northern Arapaho Endowment Scholarship supports University of Wyoming students who can provide proof of enrollment in the Northern Arapaho Tribe and are in good academic standing. Applicants must be admitted, submit the FAFSA, and apply through WyoScholarships by March 1, describing American Indian activities and plans to benefit the Northern Arapaho people. Awards may cover cost of attendance including tuition, fees, room, board, books, and travel minus other aid, with a minimum award of tuition and fees. Undergraduate awards are limited to the first bachelor's degree and twelve semesters at UW; previous recipients must reapply annually.

The Tomé Scholars to Fellows Program is a full-ride scholarship for new first-time freshmen at the University of Wyoming who embrace diverse communities and enroll in STEAM degrees related to environment and natural resources. Funded by the Tomé Foundation, the program covers one hundred percent of tuition, room and board, plus funding for unique experiential opportunities. Applications open in the spring through the Haub School. Scholars are expected to become leaders in environment and natural resources fields and participate in program activities throughout their undergraduate career at UW.

The Salt Creek Energy Excellence Scholarship, established in 2015 by UW alumni and benefactors in oil, gas, and energy law, recognizes College of Law students with academic achievement and commitment to energy law practice. First- and second-year law students apply in the spring by submitting an application form and materials to the College of Law by April 17 at 3:00 p.m. Salt Creek Scholars are honored at the annual Landscape Discussion on Energy Law and Policy and promoted to employers in the donor network. A committee including CLERR directors, the oil and gas law professor, and fund donors selects the recipient.
