Scholarships at Washington State University

Washington high schools may nominate two top students annually for the Regents Scholars Program. All qualified nominees who complete the admission and scholarship application process by the deadline receive four thousand dollars per academic year for four years while enrolled full time on the WSU Pullman campus. Recipients must be Washington State residents with at least a 3.8 high school GPA, maintain continuous fall and spring enrollment, and complete at least twenty-four graded credits each year in an undergraduate program.

Semester tuition waiver for degree-seeking undergraduates on F-1 visas at WSU Pullman who reapply each semester for up to four semesters of funding. Eligible continuing students with a 3.60 WSU GPA and twelve WSU credits are considered automatically; others may apply by documenting unusual university or community service or extraordinary achievement with a personal statement and recommendation letter. Effective fall 2026 the award may combine with the International Academic Award. Deadlines are August 1 for fall and January 1 for spring.

Additional two-thousand-dollar annual boost to the Dean's Scholarship for out-of-state engineering and computer science students at WSU Pullman who qualify for the Western Undergraduate Exchange program. Combined with the WUE Distinguished Cougar Award, this scholarship closes the gap between in-state and out-of-state tuition for eligible non-resident engineers. Students are considered through the same WSU General Scholarship Application used for Dean's and Distinguished Dean's awards, due January 31 for the following academic year.

Undergraduate research fellowship open to students in all majors, class years, and WSU campuses who conduct faculty-mentored research, scholarship, or creative activity. Established in 2006 from the estates of Wenatchee tree-fruit entrepreneurs Grady and Lillie Auvil, the fellowship typically provides about fifteen hundred dollars for the academic year. Recipients must present at WSU's Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity in spring. Applications open in late fall and close in January for the following academic year's awards managed through the Office of Undergraduate Research application form.

Scholarship supporting underrepresented educators enrolled or beginning WSU principal certification in Educational Leadership with at least three years of successful K-12 experience and demonstrated financial need. One award covers tuition and fees for two years and another provides two thousand dollars for one year, both selected through a single application with a 500-to-750-word essay on leadership goals and community impact. Applications for the 2027-2028 school year open September 1, 2026, with a July 18 deadline for the July 2027 awarding timeline.

One-time Carson College scholarship supporting international business majors in their third through final years who participate in an approved exchange program abroad with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference goes to programs conducted in a non-English language, programs in non-English-speaking countries, or English programs in Africa or Asia. Applicants submit a separate Carson College form with essays on global business leadership and at least one faculty recommendation; deadlines vary by travel term from September 15 for spring through April 15 for fall. The award cannot be received more than once.
