Scholarships at Washington College

Scholarship recognizing Maryland service members from the Department of Service and Civic Innovation who demonstrate innovation, leadership, and community impact. Up to ten recipients receive $33,000 per year renewable for four years, a paid internship with a local nonprofit or civic engagement project, and invitations to Civic Innovation dinners, workshops, and service events. Eligible applicants are high school graduates or GED holders with at least a 2.75 GPA who completed Maryland Corps, Service Year Option, or a Maryland-based AmeriCorps program within five years and receive a supervisor recommendation.

Invitation-only leadership program for outstanding first-year students who receive an additional $5,000 renewable annual merit scholarship on top of base admission awards. Presidential Fellows also receive priority course registration, themed faculty-led enrichment, cohort programming, and an invitation to interview for the full-tuition George Washington Signature Scholarship. Top automatic merit recipients are considered when they apply for admission by December 1. Fellows form a close-knit community and participate in the annual Presidential Fellows Leadership Summit.

Renewable Honors Fellowship of $5,000 per year for incoming first-year students who audition for theatre scholarships at Washington College. Students should note theatre scholarship interest on their admission application and complete the Honors Fellowship process by February 15. The award supports participation in the college's production program and may stack with other merit aid. Established through alumni donors honoring Professor Emeritus Timothy Maloney, the scholarship renews while recipients maintain merit eligibility and remain active in theatre.

Honors Fellowship for incoming first-year students with proven talent in visual art, music, dance, or theatre who submit a portfolio of work. Multiple renewable awards of $1,500 per year are available; recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and are encouraged to participate in campus visual and performing arts opportunities but need not declare an arts major or minor. Admitted students apply through the Honors Fellowship application due February 15, and awards may combine with other merit scholarships.
